Default oxidizr or Quik03

I'm ready to upgrade my exhaust to something less restrictive but would like some input. I've heard that Magnaflow's straight-through design will perform better than the Flowmaster I now have. One concern I have is noise - cruising sound, and resonance - I would prefer as quiet as possible (I'd still have the stock system on if it flowed worth a damn, because it's quiet).

I'm not averse to getting a cat-back, a custom system with just a muffler, or a muffler and a resonator. I would just like better performance and an ultra-quiet system. Here are a couple suggestions given to me, any ideas would be appreciated:

my 14 inch casing dual in and 1 out is actually not loud at all. alot of people say that it is but I am actually disappointed with how quiet it is compared to my flowmasters on my other trucks. I am goingto take the cats off and se how it sounds then. if I still don't like it I am putting in dual super 40's.

I agree, both my 5x11x18 single in dual out and my 4x9x14 dual in dual out magnaflows were way more quiet than my 40 series flow single in dual out.

I really like my dual dynomax bullets though.

Thanks for your input guys, but I think we have completely different goals. I want max flow with minimum noise; completely silent would be preferable but I know that is unreasonable. It seems like you don't mind some noise. The Flowmaster big block 70 series muffler is nearly silent at speed....I'd be keeping it if it didn't flow so poorly.

My two single in single outs are very quiet....almost to quiet. I got rid of my Dynomax due to the resononce. The Magnaflows are great for highway driving and still being able to hear the music.

I'm right with you NakedAv. I've got a flopro dual 3" in - single 3" out. Its near stock at cruising speeds although its raspy and not stock sounding at idle from the cam and !cats. I really think my flopro is too restrictive for my current setup (and heavy), so I'm working on something else. I want it quiet as I can get it in the cab.

The one BigTex posted up is going to be the quietest of all the ones in this thread. I emailed pretty much the same question to Magnaflow a while back and they said the 28" single 3" was going to be the quietest they had. I guess those 3 footers weren't out at the time since this is the first I have seen of them.

ridered has like a 3 foot magnaflow and you can;t hardly tell th difference from stock and his truck. you can hear it a little more when you get one it but that is it.
