I have had multiple trucks at work be the upper air bleed hose(the small hose on the top of the radiator to the surge tank) be plugged up.

Quickest way to check is disconnect the hose from the surge tank and blow thru it with an air hose towards the radiator, air should come thru the system and back into the tank.

If it does not blow thru remove the hose from the radiator and using a small pick clean out the 1/8" hole and recheck it.

The first time I saw this problem, I went around and around trying to figure it out.

Hope this helped
Matt

It not a turbo truck. Its a high compression 370.

I will check the bleed hose tomorrow morning before I tow it to my guy. Hopefully it is something stupid I overlooked today. After replacing what I replaced and still being in the same position I'll let someone who does cooling systems for a living check it out.

Thanks for all the input so far fellas

Was the ac running during the overheat? I know that it is hot as **** here. It may be a bad relay on the fans not letting them kick on the high speed. Get some cheap relays and replace all of them, if it cures it, order some good replacements because the cheaps won't last long. It sounds like you have tried everything but a new radiator, it's worth a shot.

It ended up being air locked. When it overheated the first time it was probably the thermostat, and when I replaced it I didn't get all the air out of the system. Truck is all good. Thanks for all the replies
