Default over driven pullies???

Do they make a puley for our trucks that would spin the belt faster, so I could build more boost?

what are you running? sure you can run more boost but on most systems the boost is prety close to as high as it can be for premium gas. you just order a smaller pully for the supercharger.

if you run more boost you will need to prevent detonation by runing better gas or mabey some water injection or mabey less timing but less timing is going to kill power.

my whipple runs at 6 1/2 pounds right at the shift point, with 91octane gas it knocks and is slow, with 92there is just a little knock, anymore boost than what it came with wouldn't do me any good with out geting rid of the knock.

My Magna charger is running @8lbs right now, id like to get it to 10 or 11 lbs with smaller pulley sizes. the blower pulley is max right now, smallest one. Ill be able to push the boost only because itll be inter cooled. and if the head gasket lets go, itll be time for head work. with the stuff I allready have done, i have to run Sunoco 94 plus octane boost to bring it up to 100+ to prevent any detonation. the intercooler design with the pulley wil be good for about 50 hp, no prob. I spoke to several techs @ Magna charger, they say with the intercooler it would be good for 30 hp right off the bat, I figure thats a good figure. Any sugg?

sounds like you should be answering my questions and i have one for ya, i am puting a 6.0 under my whipple with good exhaust, then bumbing the boost back up to 6 or 7. that shouldn't be a problem. later i hope to do some heads and cam and mabey even push the boost up to 9 or 10 on race day. any idea if this whipple will pump that much air?

I want to do a 6.0 too, but not untul I pull 450 rwhp out of my 5.3. Youll be able to push that boost with your whipple, To be honest, im not to familiar with there design of the pullies, but im sure you can get different pulley's for it just remember, youll have to retard timing for more boost, unless you can run some real high octane, like 115 or 120, but thats stuff here at the track is 8 bucks a gallon.

Max- See what size of crank pulley you are running, then check w/ magna to see if they have another that is a little larger. That would give the same effect as getting a smaller compressor pulley.

If you have 8lbs. of boost now, you will have less after you install the intercooler. The air will be colder, but it won't have the same pressure that it did before the intercooler.

If you are after that much power, look into adding nitrous to it. Then you could keep your SC at a safe level, and could throw the juice on it whenever you felt the need to add the extra punch. Nitrous will cool the air much more than an intercooler <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
