well, alot of my trip is full of long hills to where the truck is always downshifting. so maybe if it wasnt down shifting so much the mpg would hurt me as bad? maybe ill go ahead and do the 4.10s after all thanks

what size tires are you running? I drove 4 hours around 3000 rpm with 4.10s and was still getting 18mpg. And yes 4.10s will definitely keep you from downshifting as much if any. Remember a CC is a heavy truck and needs the gear to get it moving.

Great choice on CAM thats a proven cam so it will deffinately wake up your CC. Id go with the 4.10's I regret doing 3.73's on mine my main concern was my mpg but now I hardly drive the truck I might be looking into a 4.10's later on good luck with your build and keep us updated I might be looking into that CAM for mine or a custom grind 218/224 112 lsa im still debating.

ok so i ordered the cam package when i got home today. 224r with double spring(PRC) and pushrods. doing the udp, new timing chain, 160*stat, plugs, and wires all at the same time. then re-tune. hopefully, (depending on funds) ill have the 4.10s installed by the end of next month. thanks for the help and quick replies guys!

Do the math for yourself. Here is a calculator that lets you compare your stock setup vs. your new setup side by side and see what is best for you.

I have a 218/224 with .605/.605 lift! I put down 365 rwtq and 350 rwtq with it! It is an amazing cam! Oh yeah it's on a 111 lsa! Has an awesome choppy idle!
