Ordered some gauges today
#1
I've been holding off on buying the gauges but today I finally broke down and bought them.
1. I recently purchased a Dynojet Wideband that comes with a 2 1/16" AFR gauge, I'm guessing, Autometer SportComp Line.

I got the black faced Silver Bezel Gauge........2. Then I bought an Autometer 2 1/16" Pyrometer to go with it in SoCal Diesel's Upper Console Dual Gauge pod.
What does a Pyrometer do for me?
The exhaust gas temperature (EGT) gauge shows how hot the exhaust gas is.
One dudes take on EGT monitoring in an Eaton Blown application-
" It is important how you read an EGT gauge. If you see the temps going up as load increases and then suddenly see the temps drop off, be careful. That is a sign of detonation and a tremendous amount of heat is being absorbed internally and could lead to an engine failure. Look out for that. In my dyno testing max power was between 1400-1450 F. Over 1450 the power would drop off indicating a loss of power from to lean of a mixture."

Now, before I go any further, I have to admit that I comitted the ultimate no no, I decided to mix analog and Digital Gauges...............I know, I know...........most of you will "Tar and Feather" me for this.......but I think it will be just fine........How So?.......Well, the analog Autometer Gauges will be mounted far enough away from the digitals, IMO, to have two seperate visual impact areas and still look good
3 and 4. Next I ordered Nordskog Mini Tach and Fuel Pressure Gauges, both 2 1/16" with the Green Digital Readouts to be mounted in Autometer Pods side-by-side on top of the steering Column:

I will paint the steel pods to match my interior.....
5. Last on my list is the Magnacharger Boost Gauge which I will temporarily mount in the Single Pod A-Pillar location until I replace it with a Nordskog Digital Boost Gauge where my AirBag saftey switch is located.
The Nordskog Digital Gauges mixed with an Escalade Platinum Gauge Cluster should look
!
Some might ask, "why the extra Tach"?, Answer, when the steering wheel is in what I consider the Best position it interferes with my ability to read the Factory Tach, so, this gives me a perfect Quick reference that will always be in the right position......AND allows me to monitor RPM's higher than 6k.
That about does it.............Ok.........tell me how stupid I am for mixing gauges
