I'd like to take a drive in a Kenne Bell or Whipple powered vehicle to compare it to my Radix, and make my own assessments. All this 'desktop engineering' is serving to do is give me a itchy right foot....

Hey Ryan, next time I'm in Phoenix, can we go for a spin in your truck?

Awe, come-on Naked AV, you find no merit to my above statement?

Like I said before, I am splitting hairs, but that's what we do

In order for it to be a "fair" comparison, it would have to be an intercooled whipple or KB, IMO.

The same negatives would still apply to both designs, the intercooler would not help the Twin Screw at its main disadvantage, "an Off Boost Condition", however, It does help both the radix and the twin screw with heat.

The Off Boost Condition is inherent to the twin screw design, to change its limitation, you'd have to change its design.

I've been able to do just that, although both were on Fords. I had a 2.2L KB on a 5.4L reg cab short bed. Now I have an L. Both are the same configurations. As far as boost characteristics and off idle boost(power) between a roots and screw...no measureable seat of the pants difference. At higher boost levels it may be a different story. The KB had 7psi and the L 8.

Friend of mine, name is Tom Wright. He is the first person to run a Whipple on the Grand Prix. I am installing the first ICed kit on a Grand Prix right now.

As far as the arguement of instant boost on an Eaton blower compared to the Twin Screw.......I have driven both. The eaton M90 is almost instant boost. It does take a second to fully build it up. Twin screw is instant full on boost. I would take a Twin Screw of the Eaton anyday. Much much much more effiecient. Running 12-13 lb boost non ICed is hard to do with the Eaton. 15-16 is about the best you can do with an IC. After that you heat the air up to much. I can run the Whipple at 22-23 lb ICed boost and still have less air temps as the Eaton.

I'm still a huge fan of STS - I've seen what that kit can really do and I've seen the limits of SC's.

We have an excellent shop here in town and most guys are going with their STS set-up and are very happy.
