A friend of mine, Ed Wright is doing my tune. The best in the nation inmany peopples opinion. I tried doing a shift kit myself once on a 4l60e. Didn't work out so well.

Bartlesville. I have heard people complain about his auto tunes. I've always had 6spd cars or th400's. Never a 4l60e.

If I lived in OK, I would have Fastchip(EW) do a dyno tune on my truck in a heartbeat.

It was strange really. We bought the truck about 4 months ago. I check the oil in everything but that. DOH! On the display it read 27% oil life left and didn't think much of it because it is a newer vehicle and stock. Plus no valve chatter and great oil pressure.
We had an alternator issue and got that fixed. As she pulled out and got a few blocks away it spun a main bearing. When I looked at the oil it was sludge and took 4 quarts to get to full.
I suspect the dealership that we got it from did not PDI the damn thing. There is NO sign of oil anywere and I don't believe in the few months we had it it used that much oil.
Again it was my fault for not checking the damn thing. Never assume is the object lesson here boys and gurlz. Soooo.....being handed lemons like this.....I went and got some Tequilla!
I am so damn excited about this project it feels like xmas as a little kid.

So is the 408ci for you, or for the wife?

I love my wife with all that I am, and it's because I love her that I wouldn't feel comfortable giving her the keys to a 500+ horsepower mini-SUV as her daily driver. Are you certain your wife can handle it? Your ultimate goal, regardless of engine displacement, should be nothing less than putting her in a vehicle that you have the utmost confidence in. That means nothing breaking, always reliable and easy for her to drive. Are you building that?
