Default Open Headers?

I'm just curious; would it be safe to drive my truck from Gainesville to Perry with open headers? I'm not talking about the risk of being stopped by a police officer. Would the faster cooling from the open headers warp my heads when I shut my truck off?

I drove my truck 20 miles to have exhaust put on with open headers this morning and had no problems. They are long tubes though, Im not sure I would have done it had they been shorties.

They are long tubes, and it is 70 miles of interstate and highway driving.

Sorry it took so long to respond. Why would I want to unplug the o2 sensors? Wouldn't that make it run terrible? Also, would I need to worry about burning valves? And like Cary said, it's between 70 and 80 miles of driving - some interstate - and they are the Pacesetter ceramic coated Long Tubes.

After my truck warmed up it was running VERY rich, to the point of a lil black smoke even. This required a lil' 2 footing around town which was a blast to say the least. The interstate driving will not be a problem at all, its all the stop signs/lights after you exit that arent as much fun. The headers are long enough I wouldnt think you would need to worry much about burning valves. You might want to bring some ear plugs though, after about 15 mins of constant roar the sound was beginning to lose its "coolness" factor for me.
