Not trying to change subjects, but I though I read some where that you want to match the converter to 80% of beginning powerband. ie powerband begins @ 3200 rpm, 80% of that would be 2560 rpm.

I realize there's a weight difference, but when I had my 216/220, I was in the powerband with that cam (2800 up 5800ish) @ WOT before 3100. I have a 3000 rpm stall TC. If memory serves, 2800 is the low point. It's a mild-mannered cam that doesn't require hours and hours to tune.

I have a PTC, but I hear good things about other different TCs. 3000 was my decision as a mid point. I'm not running a radical cam, but WOT from a stop puts the tach a hair below the 3000 mark (I'm sure the tach's not 100% accurate). I know the power's there cuz the truck pulls (and/or spins) it's *** off (traction issue will be fixed soon).
