is it ok to leave torque convertor attached to flywheel

Hey guys i guess i took my tranny out and we left the torque converter on there and haven't taken it off but will it hurt anything i did support it with a jack.

won't hurt it but i bet it was messy, it would be nearly imposiable to put it back together that way. you need to take it off and put it on the tranny first, then toss the tranny in. you have to turn the converter to get it to drop into the tranz, it has a couple of things that need to engauge so turn it while pushing and be sure it is in all the way. when you get the tranny bolted up the converter shouldn't be presed up against the flex plate, you should be able to turn it with you finger to get the first bolt to line up.

The converter will slide back and be about 1" inside of the bellhousing ( the mounting surface that is)
