Exclamation obs idling issue

hey guys me n one of my broskies r in a bit of a jam right now...hes got a 92 k1500 with a healthy 355 (low miles) and a 700R4, well we think it is..anyways we went to adjust his timing, we unplugged the timing wire n when you plug it back in all it does is idle extremely low and ends up puking out...we have no idea what it is, the truck idles how it should when the timing wire is unplugged, were at 8deg. advanced and it has ran great there before...one weird thing, the distributor hold down was a ****ty chrome one which caused it to come loose multiple times, weird thing is it raised so much it took the center pin for the coil wire out of the dizzy cap and sheared it flush, im thinking mabey dizzy gear might be bad but i came here to ask what yall think. if any of you could help us out itd be greatley appreciated

thanks

tj and mat
