Question Noobie header help

hi to all! ok.. here is my problem... ive been wanting long tubes for a while now for my 06 silverado ECSB. i keep on hearing that these trucks need a certain amount of backpressure to run well and perform. if i go with LT's, ORY(catless), with the catback i already have will i see any gains, lose power or what? my tune is stock. all ive done so far is catback and CAI.
thanks in advance

You'll definitely want to get a tune to optimize performance and see the most gain from your mods!

You've been misinformed, backpressure always bad. Loss of low end power is associated with running too large of an exhaust system on an unmodified engine. What happens is the exhaust gas pulses don't scavenge properly in the large pipe because there is less gas velocity. You'll see some nice gains with the long tubes, a good mid to upper power gain. As was already stated, the tune will help you get the most out of your new system and it's possible you may not lose any low end at all.

If you don't use O2 sims without the cats you'll throw a code. When you get it tuned they can fix that though. Truck should run good either way.

You can wait on the tune, but you won't see the full gains of those parts until you do tune it, plus you'll throw codes if you remove your cats! The tune can fix that problem by having the tuner shut off the rear O2 sensors...
