With the window switch I wont even get the hit until 3000 rpm's, so I don't have to worry about the power out of the hole. I will probably upgrade to a 2 stage system later. I think I will go with 125 setup for now. Also instead of the 2 stage you can go with the Fred box which gives several stages.

 

Yea, I thought about the box, but those are high dollar aren't they. I was thinking a two solinod setup with 50 on the button and let the window kick in at 3k, or something like that. I'm kind of thinking out loud right now because I won't be doing any of this until I get the heads and cam in. And even still, I'm not even still sure if I wanna do the 4.8 for now or swap blocks at the same time. It all depends on the cash. If I do a block swap, I will bore the other one I have and go forged(=$$$). Or I may see what this little 4.8 can do with a H/C before the swap. Just can't make up my mind. What I do know is I won't stroke anything, wayyyy to much $$$ for a stroke right now. Unless that 4" crank form ustrailia comes in later this year. Rumor has it it is rated to hold 1200 hp (or something like that) for $800. I just ordered the NX basic wet kit with genx 2 package and a 6000 window switch. What is the safest maximum shot. I was told 150, but that seems a little high. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> This is not Hiho smoke yourown ***** please respond.

25 shot can kill your engine. 150 shoud be ok for short term use, but I wouldn't expect the pistons in these engines to hold up for very long at that shot. If you hook it up right and get the correct fuel mixture, you may have no problems with 125 to 150 shot for about a bottle every two weeks. If you use a bottle or two a week, I woulndn't expect to last more than 20k to 30k w/o a rebuild. Just my opinion. I have seen a few piston failures now including my own on 100 shot(dry). But the majority of the failures were due to lean conditions or spraying hard out of the hole. I'm actually thinking of a two stage type setup where I go 50 out of the hole and hit 100 at 3k for a 150 total.
