Default NEXT ENGINE MOD after torque converter

2004 ccsb 5.3, hptuners, circle d 28-3200, muffler.

In a previous post, i was asking about what to do next after my torque converter. I am not going to be doing any more drivetrain or suspension mods. So im reposting so that no one will have to dig to see the questions that I have asked. I want to know what is next, and I would like a quieter offset/offset muffler to put on the truck. right now i have a 3" flow master 3 chamber, but its too loud for the wife and kiddos. as for the next mod, I was thining cam, as others posted in the previous post, just needing a good suggestion now that i have the converter.

I'd do a cam that matches the converter, maybe something like a TR220, and some headers to help the engine exhale and take further advantage of the cam

ya prob cam, dont forget you'll need supporting mods for the cam, which would be long tube headers and thats going to make your exhaust way louder so you might want to uprgrade to a way bigger magnaflow muffler to, dont forget you'll need springs, pushrods timing chain and a oil pump to.

I see no reason that you'd automatically need a timing chain or oil pump.

It's not usually necessary in most cases, unless you have excessively high mileage or the chain is very loose. Many guys around here have done cam swaps with over 100k and replaced nothing else but springs and pushrods. Not to mention, a lot of folks run into problems with the oil pump o-ring after dicking with the oil pump.

I personally haven't heard of too many broken timing chains on the GENIII engines...
