Newbie truck owner and a question
#1
N00bie to the truck world, just picked up an '02 GMC Sierra SLE ext cab with the 4.8 (I know, wanted the 5.3 but got a killer deal on this one). Will be using it to tow my Z06 to the road race courses.
Still trying to decide on an intake, heard the UPD gives best gains but is prone to cracking. Hear mixed reviews on the Volant, but mostly good on the FIPK so will likely go that route. Will also be taking advantage of the HP Tuners trade-in program to trade in my LS1Edit and EFI Live, since their licensing allows for two vehicles.
Was wondering if anyone's tried installing the Z06 exhaust manifolds on their trucks? Mine are just sitting here from my header install and I know they flow pretty well. Wonder if they'd fit, although I'd likely need a custom catback fabricated. I know my LS6 heads and cam will fit once I swap them out of the Z06!

I beleive the manifolds will bolt up the problem runs into the frame and steering shaft where their will need to be some custom fab work. also I wouldn't swap the heads which will lower compressiona and since the 4.8 is such a small engine I really think this will actually hurt your performance. welcome to the board.
