I'm pretty sure that you'll get the same results, the expensive aftermarket ones don't yield any real seat of the pants gains, maybe 5 to 8 hp at the rear wheels at most. Honestly, the factory intake system isn't really that restrictive as it is.

 

+1 with the tune. I have an off brand CAI and I wish I would have waited until I had more cash and got the K&N. Then maybe some Long tubes, but if you don't have the money for headers, I had a y pipe on my truck and it gave me a little more power but my gas mileage increase quite a bit.

I was getting 20 on the interstate with nothing but a y pipe and a K & N filter, no CAI yet. I liked the way it sounded too. I had true duals without mufflers for awhile and it was too loud. lol I've had many different exhaust systems on this truck but that was by far the most efficient. I think everyone on this site will agree with me that i felt a big difference with a tune. I didn't even get that aggressive of a tune either. Definately worth the money.

I just didn't know if my CAI from Spectre was causing my MAF issues. I can't figure it out and it didn't come up until about that time, but it was there before hand. Im lost with it now.

 

yeah....someone told me to get a CAI before i got a tune so thats prolly what im gonna do....and is it true that pvc pipe is bad to make a cold air intake with?
