CHP tested the Vera Ram?

I just got my new issue of CHP and I have not seen anything about that in the mag. Where is the article?

I spoke to Vararam today.

I was told, if you only buy the non-Ram air system, you can not up-grade to Ram air later. The cold air box will only have one inlet. The Ram air will have two inlets.

After the phone call was finished, I thought it was possible the tech guy thought I already had the original one inlet air box.

He also told me that the 5.3 would see minimal gains with the ram air version over just the non-Ram air model. The larger displacements..6.0 & 8.1, would make better use of the Ram Air..

..but at the end of the conversation, he was saying the full ram air was the way to go for me??????

Hopefull..like I said, the tech guy thought I already had a single inlet air box....because I had planned to buy just the air box and see what it does...then maybe the ram air later...

Maybe I'll call again tommorrow and double check..

If I get it, I'll be getting the full-on Ram-Air version. I just want to hear some testimonials from customers not paid by VeraRam or from those who don't sell it (no offense tbyrne).

The test will be in an upcoming issue. I'll be talking to them today to see what the rundown is for the new ones.

I spoke to Vararam again ....

The cold air and the Ram air are two different kits.

The cold air is still the original air box with one inlet.
The Ram air has two inlets.
If you buy a cold air box, it cannot be turned into a ram air later on..

The guy recommended the cold air model for my 5.3.

He said if I was towing alot, or spending time at the track, then the Ram air would help.

I didn't get a chance to look at it. I saw that the order came in while I was on my way to the new building. UPS had already picked up when I got back.

Tom,

Is this going to be available for the 99-02 models? Also, does it work with any aftermarket air intakes (excluding the filter and accessories), that you are aware of?

Thanks.

p.s. Sorry if these questions have been asked and answered before!

Tom,

It should be avalible for the 99-02 models. And your tube from air box to TB, should be compatable with the Vera Ram.

The VeraRam was designed to work with the factory tube, so anything that directly replaces the factory tube, will work with the VeraRam (for example Volant, or Airaid, etc)
