the easiest way is to get a rcsb truck with a 5.3 and 4.10's and either S/C it or Turbo it, if turbo select the 3.23 gear, then custom tuneing, long tube heades, intake, elect.fans that will get you there, if not get NOS.

How about this:
-1/2 ton RCSB
-LS7
-twin turbos
-4L80E
-some NOS, the shot is up to you

This should get you somewhere in the 9, 10, 11, 12 sec. range but that depends on if you can race.

But all joking aside any silverado 1500 will do, I like the 2500 because they come with 6.0L and 4L80E. The 80E tranny is a rock solid tranny, my has been in my truck for over 270,000 without a problem, oh yeah I don't really rag on my truck that is what I got my camaro for. What type of cab is up to you whether it be regular cab, extended cab, or crew cab.

oh forgot to mention Stall converter, if S/C then 2600 if Turbo then 3200.

A RCSB 5.3 with simple bolt-ons and a 100-125 shot should have no problems hitting mid 12's, then you can go from there. If you race on the street buy a 4x4 and lower it, then you won't have to worry about traction as much..

12s, maybe 11s? Here's the equation:

4500# (or less) truck + 5.3 + cam & springs + short gears + LTs + stall + tune + lead foot = 12s truck

** NOTE: POSI carrier & sticky rubber recommended for traction! Any questions?
