Default New Trailblazer Torque Converter

Read on another board that the new Trailblazer stalls would work on my truck, it just has a smaller diameter and it shold stall higher.
Does anyone know about this and/or possibly have a part number for it?
The guy also says he thinks the Yank 2600 is just the Trailblazers TC.

I'm the guy. Do a search in our old posts. We went over that topic pretty well a few months back. If I remember correctly, Gonzo was grilling Patrick G pretty hard on the topic.

gmpartsdirect has them for $280 plus a $100 core charge. Not sure how much they charge for shipping. I bet SDPC has a good price on these.

How high do they stall? Is it really what yank uses for the 2600 Truck Thruster?

Someone needs to buy one, try it out and see how it feels.

I wouldnt doubt that its the exactly the same thing. My wife has a TrailBlazer and it foot stalls over 2k rpms. 2200 or 2300 I think. Its a very nice feeling converter.

The stock Trailblazer converter works great in the 4.8-6.0L trucks and SUVs with the 4L60E trans. It will stall 2300-2600, depending on displacement and mods. It is a nice, cheap step up from stock.

Yank uses new Trailblazer converters as the basis for their Truck Thruster covnerters. Small mods are done to get the stall up to 2600 (for 4.8s and 5.3s). Major mods are done to get the stall up to 3000 for the Truck Thruster 3000. It's a nice converter stock, but lacks the strong punch off the line that the modified Yanks have.
