Hey Guys,
I was somewhat satisfied with the 12.3 I ran last friday, mph was down at 106mph. I knew there was something going wrong. HP was a little low too, even for a Superflow dyno, it was 383hp/387tq.
I always wondered why my truck produced boost instantly and the turbo felt like it was always "ON". I removed the cats today and one was like a big rock tumbling around in the casing, doh!
After I got them out and replaced them with straight pipe, I dynoed it again.
HP was up a lot, 408hp, (can't remember torque, but it was above 400too).
The truck feels great for what I have in it.
Well, I'm more than pleased with the results from tonight!
1.73 - 60'
11.99 @ 110.16mph
That's what I was hoping for!
Mods: '94 regcab, stock 6.0L, 5psi STS, 3200stall, 3.07gears.
Now that the 11's are accomplished, it's time to install the cam, 10psi, and intercooler that have been sitting for a while. My goal is 10's.
The time was with a very weak launch, the slicks aren't holding. When I really boost and launch hard, I just spin and get kind of sideways. I think if I had bigger slicks and could launch hard, 11.8's would be no problem.
see ya online,
allen

Dave mentioned I needed to be careful because your truck was getting close to finished... He wasn't kidding. Jesus man I'm impressed!!!
Make me real glad I am swapping to the RCSB now
Do you have pics of the finished product?
What size tire diameter are you using? I see you are running 3.08 gears. I was thinking of running something really low in the new truck but wasn't sure if I should stick with a 3.73 or step down to a 3.23.

LOL FL8 Z71, ya, I finally got some time to play with it, I can't wait for 10psi and the cam!
Trust me, the truck is nothing to look at, just find yourself an old '94 reg cab, marroon truck on the road and that's exactly how it looks, hahah, it's a real sleeper. I installed a kit for the newer truck and just had to cut a few to make it fit, it still needs some attention.
I went from 4.10's NA to the taller gear and the turbo loves it! Second gear is a beast and I have no problem launching it, actually quicker than the 80shot and 4.10's I had.
Piping is the normal truck size, I believe 2.5" from the turbo to the maf, then 3" from the maf to TB. The intercooler I bought is about 24" and has 3" in/out.
thanks,
allen

I figured the truck looked the same as the pics I saw last time. I meant the kit but I assume it looks just like a normal STS kit just with a few different length pipes huh?
I think I am going to try and run a high gear set on this new truck. No higher than a 3.23. This will give me more choices in slick size too. If I wanna run a small slick I can and as we both know the higher gears make for more fun on the freeway
I see some big #s coming up for the STS trucks this year. Between you, Erik, Link (the crazy 4.8L) and I that should be 4 trucks in the 10s by the end of the year and I'm sure Chris99GMC will be somewhere in there depending on how long he can keep his foot out of it and his stock motor together.

You'll love the 3.23's, since you probably run a taller tire than I do, it'll work out just right.
These turbos, tall gears are a beast on the highway! Even with 3.07's, it'll get crazy at a 55mph punch.
10's are coming for sure!
thanks,
allen

Alright Allen,
Good run. 10's should be no problem. I'll proubly go to the track next week and get some new time myself. I'm just hoping for some 13's with this heavy *** truck. Bud8 weigh his truck and it was 6300#
and that was stripped. I'll have to do some weight reduction before i go. I'm pulling the head off my truck today to pull the broken exhaust manifold bolt and fix the exhaust leak. I also install my boost controller this week. Congats again Allen

Hit those 10's!
