New mods for the HD next week
#1
It looks like I'll get to use the truck in the 6-12" of snow this weekend and then it will be coming apart for these mods next week -
First the 6" TrailMaster lift will be replaced with a 6.5" Full Throttle lift. The main reason is this lift will tuck the tires under the truck a little better because it uses stock spindles. Plus I won't have to crank the torsion bars as much to get the same height that I have now so that will improve the ride a little.
After the lift is done the transmission fluid will be replaced with 21 quarts of synthetic (probably Amsoil). Hum... 21 quarts of synthetic fluid = $ouch$! The rearend will also be getting synthetic fluid along with a new cover -

The cover has some benefits -
Magnetic drain plug and anodized aluminum dipstick with magnetic insert
O-rings require no gaskets or sealant
Routine lube maintenance without removing the differential cover
1/8 NPT temperature sender port
303 stainless steel hardware
Lube level reference plug
Finned aircraft aluminum housing
but the main thing for me is I like how it looks
After everything is done underneith it will be time to go up top and replace the stock rocker studs with Crane's new conversation stud kit. This will allow me to run their 1.7 Gold roller rockers. I'm currently have a custom computer program by Fast Chips but after hearing alot of good things about the Wester's programming I'm having them put something together to cover all of the mods.
Tom

Your probably getting more snow than I am. It turned to rain for a little while so I don't expect anymore than 8-10". A friend in Worcester should be seeing about 24". Tonight will be a good time to go out and play in this stuff
