New Ls7 lifters, dissamble first!
#1
My new set of ls7 came “ pumped” up with some kind of rust preventative. I took one apart and it was full. I disassembled all of them, mineral spirit soaked all the parts and then soaked the parts in oil, reassembled. Dragged a magnet through the mineral spirits and had plenty of metal on it. Dont just throw these in and go.

I bought one set from the dealership, and another from overstock direct ( claim to be genuine, I think there delphi). Ive had the chinese knock offs apart and these def are not them. They were junk. The fit and finish of both sets are great, they just need torn down and cleaned well.

I got a pushrod length checker from a reputable engine builder/parts seller. They just send out checkers in the factory package without opening them. Why would they need to inspect them first, it just an inexpensive part. I'd say they inspect them now after I let them know that I could not close it all of the way because it was jam packed with the thread cuttings.
I can just imagine the foreman yelling at the line of 13 year old girls to work faster in the Chinese factory.
