Default new to the group with a question?

Hey all,
Im new here just registered? I own a 2000 chevy 1500 reg cab short bed, with a 5.3. I think it looks pretty good, its got a 3/4 drop 18 inch wheels, tru duals no convertors or mufflers, a cool air intake. I would like to know what to do to gain horsepower within reasonble cost under a thousand. and what some of you do to gain horsepower. please help.

well i dunno what size pipes you have, but i would put some mufflers on there to get more low end torque for starters.

for 1000 bux, DEFINATLY get a custom tune for your pcm. westers or nelson. its 500 bux and just read peoples reviews of them. lol im saving pennies to buy one for my truck. for the other 500, maybe a nitrous setup? thats serious track power

yeah long tubes for sure, but those will cost ya 600-1000 for the good stuff. the cool thing about the tune is that you can get it modded as you add more stuff

I's say stick to a custom tune and make it a posi differential if you don't have it already.
