New exhaust setup
#1
Getting the exhaust put on on Thursday (finally!) and heres my plan.
3in Y-pipe into the 3in mid pipe I have. Now this is where it gets fun.
Im thinking of taking the mid pipe and chopping it down a little bit so that the muffler is before the hanger and then running a 3in pipe out of it that branches off into 2 3in pipes that will exit facing downward about the middle of the quarter panel on either side of the rear. No gawdy chrome BS or anything like that. Goin for similar to the old school T/A and Camaro exit. What do you think?

It sounds like a lot of unnecessary piping to me. More pipe = more resistance to flow. Personally I like the idea of a muffler right after the Y pipe and that's it, but that's just me.

Dam I was hoping I would be the 1st haha but of course not.
I think it'll sound better, look better, keep all the exhaust from coating my right side shock and underside some more haha and Ill throw some dust around when WOT
Gmctrk, use your head a little. Free flowing I.e- 3in pipe with an 'X-pipe' (if you will) won't cause alot of restriction. Also helps with noise. I'm one for a loud truck and all but if you want straight pipe for 'less restriction' they make cut outs

Resistance to flow is directly proportional to length of the pipe and inversely proportional to radius to the 4th power. The more piping you add, the more resistance you add. How much difference it makes in terms of power output, I don't know. And I never said anything about straight pipes, I said adding a muffler right after the Y and dumping it there. Trying reading a little closer next time.

BlackGmc has a nice simple single tip

I know I have seen what your talking about, it will look good. and also it will be good to get the sound all the way out the back.
