do you have 3 inch dual pipes coming into the 5x11x22 dual 3 inch entry/dual 3 inch exit or is it just going into the single entry/single exit 5x11x22??

also how loud is the muffler?

That was for stainless.

So any other opinions on the coating of headers? Jet Hot vs. Pacesetter?

What about pipe size? 3" or 2.75"?

a 1/4" gap isn't bad. from a fabricator's standpoint it's just not ideal for aesthetics and also resistence to oxidization.

jet hot has nice stuff, but like I said the pacesetter's ceramic coating is very nice and clean. a lot of guys that get jet hot say the reason they got them is because they're coated inside and out, and yes that's true, but the new model of pacesetters (72c2264 is the old pn, 72c2265 is the new one i believe) like the ones I have have a full coating job that reach almost all the way through the primaries. IMO if the headers last me more than 6 years without showing signs of rust I'll be happy.

Single entry/exit. Sounds nice and mean when you are on the throttle and pretty tame elsewhere. Try to get some clips up tomorrow night/this weekend.

Ok, I think i'm going to go with the cheaper ones from Pacesetter. I'm going to have a custom y pipe built because I can get it cheaper than the one from Pacesetter. I'm gonna run a single 3" all the way back with a larger magnaflow. Then dump it in the stock location. Sound good?

i have pace l/t's with a custom 3" ory and a 40 series flow dumped. sounds good at idle, there is a lot of drone between 2500and 3500 rpms, and at highway speeds. how much quieter would it be if i ran piping over the axle and dumped it behind the rear wheels? sorry to hijack...

it'd reduce drone. especially if it dumps pretty close to the fender.

hey 4.8. I have both stock cats in my system. they're only 6 months old and i need to kinda be compliant with the warranty. lemme find the links for the pictures and i'll post em

i have some more on my home computer. im at work right now. the pix are kinda hard to tell what's goin on, but basically I installed the lt's. installed the pacesetter ORY. cut the ORY and slid the y part back. welded the cats inline with each lead going into the ORY. and then I just have the flange dumped there under the cab. I kinda like the way it sounds daily driven. its a little loud on the top end yes, but I dont have any drone other than 2200 rpms. I used to have a little popping in the exhaust but I've lowered the fueling quite a bit on the top end (lowered the PE enrichment EQ's) and it sounds nice and aggressive.

btw, the ory with cats is easy as hell to get out since the y is after the trans x-member.
