Thumbs up New dyno numbers

I went to the dyno today to get a baseline before I begin the intercooler project. I didn't plan on tuning, so I just paid for the basic 3 pull plan. I ended up getting to make 5 pulls but one was an aborted nitrous pass, so really only 4 that count.

I made a best of 412hp/549tq on the motor and a 586hp/670tq on the spray. I expected a little more horsepower off the juice, but it was pig rich so maybe that had something to do with it. One thing is for sure, my home-made dry shot makes a little more power than I had it figured at-175 at the wheels !!

I am anxious to see what kind of difference getting those IAT's down will make.

175 dry shot That might not be a 175 shot on a N/A engine though. On the boosted engine you gain a bit extra from nitrous since it's cooling down much more air than a N/A engine is pulling in. I've read you can pick up almost 1hp/1 degree temperature drop so some of that power is from cooling all that extra air. I believe that ratio of hp to temp also as I've ran the same combo at the track in 90 and 40 degree weather and picked up .43 in the 1/4 just from weather.

Nice numbers, it'll be nice to see the difference from non to intercooled. It's gonna be alot I have a feeling.

well i know FI loves nitrous but i also dont think that a 75 dry shot would make that much rwhp even in an FI motor application

My dry shot is home-made. It just consists of a solenoid and a nozzle mounted where the Whipple aux injectors used to be. Then I have a program I flash in to give it extra fuel. Now that I think about it, I used to run a #55 jet and I figured that to be around 75 horse. Last fall when I was trying for better numbers at the track I put the biggest jet I had in there just to see, and I think it was like a 107 or 113, can't really remember. I will check it today and see what I really dynoed on !!

And believe it or not, but I am spraying almost directly on the intake air temp sensor yet the IAT's only go down about 20 degrees when on the juice (from 210 down to 190 on that dyno pull)

Those are some nice numbers and it still needs some tuning. I need a bigger motor.

That is by far one of the wierdest looking, good, dyno sheets I've ever seen. It's like totally flat and the TQ curve looks almost like the HP curve. LOL

Great #s man!!
