New cam for procharged 6.0
#1
So I was running a TSP 224/228 .581,.588 114+2 in the truck before the motor blew and was happy with the way it performed but decided to go a little bit different route with the new cam. Previous motor was a bone stock LQ9 with around 120k miles on it when it went pop. Only things not stock motor wise were cam, springs, pushrods. New motor is a 50k mile pull out LQ4 that ill be installing ls9 head gaskets and arp head bolts to keep the blower in check. New cam is a Lunati Voodoo 227/233 .584,.584 113+4. Im hoping the slightly larger split and more duration will pick up a a little power over the old 224/228 but figured id throw it up and see how more knowledgeable people feel about the change. I would have ran the 224/228 again but the old cam was destroyed when the motor blew AND...TSP wanted a bit more than I was looking to spend on just a cam. Let me know what you guys think!
Heres some carnage pics of the old motor

Damn that some carnage alright. How much boost were you running when this happened?
I would think with a cam that big and a procharger you would kind of need a bigger stall. Of course I can't speak from first hand experience though...
Will you be doing any head work or using the stock 317's?

I was thinking I may need a slightly larger stall but with the d1 I think it'll be okay for now. I called lunati and gave them all my specs and that was the cam they recommended me to try so I guess I'll see how it goes. Heads will be stock 317s with upgraded springs is all. Too late now since its already in the motor and the motor is in the truck. Should have it buttoned up and ready to fire up tomorrow evening, I hope. Lol

I think I would have stuck with a 224-228, depending on what lobe the lunati is ground on.. Both of the cams should perform about the same, by looking at the lsa with the advance ground in..

I'm not sure what lobes lunati uses, I just know they are not as harsh on the valve train as comps xer lobes. My budget is about spent for right now but I do plan on throwing a TBSS/nnbs intake on in the near future. I plan to run about 8psi for daily driving purposes and around 12+ for if and when I take it to the track.
