The trucks we have installed the holley pumps on, we just used the factory bucket. Our customers have been driving them for about 6 months now without any problems. We leave the rubber baffle on it so fuel wont come rushing out when under heavy acceleration or braking. We do the same with our large fuel system. We had our large fuel system down to an 1/8 of a tank and was not sucking any air. You just have to be careful not to suck the small bucket dry under acceleration and low fuel levels.
The tube 90* bend out of the tank will not fit under the bed of a stock truck. We had it under a truck with a body lift. For stock trucks we send a direct 90* bend without any tube. It will cut down on the fuel flow a little, but it is nessary for trucks with out body lifts.
As far as sucking. So far we havent run into any problems. We have used this setup on about 3 trucks so far. The only dissadvantage to it is the return regulator is a direct flow back to the tank. So every time you start it up. The key must be cycled on for a sec to pump pressure to the rail again. All the F-body kits like this do the same thing though. Some people dont mind it others get annoyed by it.
