If this condition is occuring in your vehicle and you're still under the 3/36, yes. It is not a recall however which means that it's not covered if your vehicle isn't still under warrenty.

I also used the blue o-ring without problem. I DID however have the same initial condition ( tight bolt, loose tube ) but re-seated the tube and it went in further the second time around. This was with the motor out of the truck so I can see where the in-vehicle swap could present problems.
Sounds like the new oil pump has been shimmed to me also for higher pressure. Only way to tell is by removing it and looking at the check ball assembly for extra or thicker washers.
The "LS6" moniker got attached after some of the 2002 and older pumps were failing. The late 2002 LS6 motors got a redesign that became standard on all future GenIII motors, thus the name, so paying extra for the name only ( no porting or blueprinting ) is a waste. Sure sounds purty tho!

Just got back from a long drive this weekend, 500 miles. No ticking noise, BUT high oil pressure. 70 off idle and 75-80 over 2500 rpm. Im going to see if I can check the oil pressure tomorrow with a mechanical gauge, and go from there.

What causes high oil pressure? Im guessing some type of restriction. Any long term affects?

Hooked up a mechanical gauge and the pressure is 60-62 at idle and 85-90 at high rpm's.

Im stumped and dont know where to start looking.

It sounds like the pressure relief valve is sticking or shimmed incorrectly. I would change the pump or start running some 0w30 oil.

Before you had this problem was the oil pressure low or was it just a lifted ticking sound
