ok this is a stock ssr fan but the plug you see on the fan is the same kind of plug that the one i took a pic of plugs into.

im thinking its a sensor to tell when to engage teh fan cluth to cool down?

yea it appears that way, clutch fans are silicone based. when they are cool it slips i believe to allow the engine to heat up and when everything gets hot, the silicone expands and engages the clutch. some of the newer models allow for a capability that disengages the clutch at WOT to keep parasitic drag from robbing your HP with the fan. that sensor could connect to your TPS sensor, and coolant temp sensor etc.

He has a TBSS, its not a truck if Im not mistaken.
