Default need sum cam suggestions.

k got a 07 silverado classic with a 4.8. so far ive done 4.10 gears, trutrack posi, shortys, cold air intake, dual exhaust (no cats, x-pipe, two 50 series flows). looking to do a cam next. need sum suggestions on how big i can go. ive heard if i go to big i can lose bottom end, wich obviously i don't want to do. what would be a decent sized cam that wouldn't lose bottom end but still add a pretty noticible change?

212/218 is a pretty proven cam. In a 4.8 it would probably still need a stall to be the best.

Tr224 cam with a 3600 stall should be good, look at circle-d or speed-eng's website. The stall with your 4.10's will out help with your bottom end. Some tranny work should be seen in the future if you want to run it hard. Im in the process of getting a stall, as for the 6 speed tranny anything from tremec that fits will definatly do as long as you dont plan on towing or hauling a lot.

Is the truck a daily driver or a track queen? TR224 is a little big for a daily driven 4.8 IMO, but opinions vary. Search 212/218 and you'll find a wealth of info on a well known proven street cam. Match a torque converter to the cam you choose...If you search "4.8 cam", you'll probably find a bunch of different combos that guys have used with great results. Personally I wouldn't go over 220 in duration in a 4.8 that sees street use, but that's just me

i say 212/218 cam would b a good cam on a 2600-2800 stall... i have it on my 5.3 with no stall and it has a good gain of power all around...its got low end torque as well as high... for a 4.8 i would b great... and yea if u go bigger then a tr220 u will need a 3600 stall and is that what ur looking for? i mean its all on what u want..

Has anyone tried this cam yet? Looks to me like it would perform pretty good in a truck...

You can definitely lose bottom end if you go too big. I have a 222/226 in a 6.0 and it's definitely softer below 2000 rpms than the stock cam. But it's not like I'm hurting for torque or anything, the 4.8 would be a different story. I really like that 214/218 cam.
