In need of some help
#1
I got a yank 2600, I just installed it. When I started my truck to make a test drive, it made a really weird noise. Then, when I tried to back out of the garage it would not back up or go forward. The linkage is hooked up correctly because it is shifting and will go in nuteral. It feels like there is not enough fluid because it is not engaging. But, on my dipstick it shows overfull. I am need of some bad help if anyone can help me please do. Thank you so much Todd.

Are you sure you got the converter all the way on the input shaft, 3 notches/clicks? Did you put any fluid in the converter prior to installation? How much? How much fluid have you installed in the trany after install? It takes about 6qts with minimal fluid loss during installation. I had to let mine run for nearly 30 min and add a little at a time till it quit sucking it up.

Lets hope you didnt jam the converter into the pump gears,if you did then your Fkt.You said you heard noise, thats the part that worries me.Once you had the trans bolted tight against the motor could you turn the converter freely when you went to install the converter bolts?

Well gonzo, you are right I am fkt. I broke the pump when I started the motor I think. There are supposed to be two pumps though, one cost around 175 and the other about double. I think I am going to take it to a tranny shop and let them deal with it. They said it will cost around 600 to fix it if is was the expencive pump. Now I have to find a way to get it to the tranny shop.
Thanks for all of the help. Todd
I am hoping to have the truck ready for the track this weekend. No wonder the damn tranny was so hard to bolt on, that is what happens when you don't know what you are doing.
