Question need some help

Okay, my plans are to strip down a 350 block engine and rebuild it completely, i am wanting to run a 13:1 compression ratio. with forged pistons, crank and rods. i want maximum horsepower for street and strip. i am going to bore the 350 to a 400 (or thats what my intensions are, any help would be appreciated) and im looking into a ram fuel injected system (going to cut open the hood and make it a forced induction) what i need help on is the numbers. what type of pistions to use and crankshaft and rods and cams to use. i can put it together im just not sure about what all of the numbers mean. im looking for true power. and also some specs on some heads. any info on this would be greatly appreciated. if you need more info you can contact me a harvickgm@yahoo.com

First off, you cannot bore a 350 block enough to get 400 inches out of it. You either need to start with a 400, or maybe consider building a 383 stroker out of the block you have. You can get a rotating assembly (rods, crank, pistons, bearings) and put it in your block. These kits are the way to go as you get everything needed for a discount price. Second, 13:1 compression is too much for the street. That compression requires the use of race gas (cam 2, vp) which runs around $3.50 to $4.00 per gallon. Check out www.speedomotive.com. These guys have been building stroker motors and big inch small blocks since the beginning of time. They have reasonable prices as well. Hope this helps, and good luck with your project.

is a 11.8:1 compression ratio to much for the street and it should be able to run on pump gas and race gas. thanks for the website. im probably going to go with the 383 PRO-FORGED STROKER KIT/WITH 5.7" ROD. but what is the difference between the H beam rods and I beam rods?
