Default need some 6.0 help asap!

a buddy of mine spun his rod bearings all to hell in his 2000 ws6. his only fate is to get the tired old 80,000 engine rebuilt. a shop already pulled it and is waiting on him to give them the ok to rebuild it. they quoted him 3200 for the rebuild. instead of going that route we located a clean 7800 mile 6.0 long block locally. the guy told him it was a 2004 but the ad said it was an 05? so which ever. the main questions are:

1. what reluctor wheel is in it? from the pictures i can see the CPS sensor at the rear by the starter like my LS1, so does that mean its 24x?

2. can a T56 and pilot bearing be used with the 6.0 crank?

3. are there any other problems we might face? other than the missing bolt hole we need to drill and tap for the F body alternator bracket?

its a complete long block, minus the valve covers. comes with front/rear covers, valley tray, rockers and valve train, aluminum heads, balancer, and truck oil pan. we need to know ASAP! we hope to scoop it up by monday so the shop can put his car back together.

we were thinking of getting some ls6 yellow springs and a Zo6 cam to wake it up some.

They went to a 54x reluctor with the GenIV engines, so that one should be the 24x. That engine have the returnless fuel rail? Not sure what the f-bodies have.

fuel wont matter since it will be mounted in the car

youll be fine with the 04-05 motor in the car, yes you can use the pilot bushing/bearing. the car will sit lower in the front slightly cause of the weight of the ironblock. i personally wouldnt waste my time with the Z06 cam in that motor. if your going to do a cam in the fbody do a real mans cam. as for the alternator just drill the hole on the side of the block. very easy and simple. with iron block you wont be using one hole but that isnt a huge deal

i have installed 6.0s in fbodys, i have also used fbody accesorries on my 6.0 and 6.7

you will have no issue putting that motor in a car and just for the books we put a z06 cam in a truck stock everything else and it ran 12.9 in anex-cab so i would do the swap if you wanted just keep in mind you can go bigger.the 02 and new z06 cam are completely different they have different lobes, ramp speed, and more lift, and it will pull all the way to 6800 to 6900 with no problems
