Does anyone know were I can purchase a Walbro 255 pump for my 1999 GMC 5.3? I noticed lots of the f-body guys buy there pumps from Racetronix but they dont have it listed on there web site as a pump that they sale.

Speed INc has several fueling items listed on their site. You can use an inline pump to keep pressure up on your truck, or replace the in-tank pump.

Thanks for the link but they dont show a direct replacement for my truck. I want to just go ahead and replace my factory pump because when you put a load on the engine the pump looses pressure. If the in tank pump quits completly pumping will a inline pump keep the pressure up?

yeah i am looking to do the exact same thing on my truck. I need to replace the in tank pump, mine takes forever to get started and the gauge doesn't work right. If i replace it with a walbro it will fix the bad gauge right?

To fix the gauge you will need a new sending unit, approx $80,my gauge has been screwy for a year or two.

Hey I've got the intank module I just took out about a month back if interested. The pump shut off on the way to work one day and I live an hour away from work so I just replaced the whole thing. That was before I knew you could just replace the pump w/ a Walbro ( still have to take out the whole module to replace it). But you could replace the pump in this module and just drop the whole thing in. The gauge worked perfectly. Hell the pump even worked the rest of the day I just didn't trust it to get me back to the house. New module is about 300 bucks from Oreilly's if you want to go that route you just need to know if it's a TCF pump or not. I'll try to post pics but I have sloooooow dial-up. Just PM me if interested...Zed

Magnacharger was putting together a kit for a high volume in tank Walbro fuel pump. They are using it in conjunction with their 04+ kits I believe. Might give them a call and see if it would work for you.
