Yes .. that's the same cam in all of my clips. I've had that cam and the stock one in. The tuning makes a WORLD of difference. If I wanted to, I could make it sound stock at 650, but if you drop the timing enough it will lope pretty good. BTW, mine's idling at 650.

I like it .. it could come on a little sooner, but the converter and blkower REALLY take up the slack.

Deckhand,

Man that sounds nice.

Flyer,

Yeah, I want mine to sound relatively stock, a little bit of a lope but nothing too drastic. Why do you say it could come on a little sooner. I am planning of keeping my truck N/A so I don't want it to bog down too much. Plus I've only got a 2500 stall converter. I don't think that this cam would be too much for my application.

It will be fine ... Mine just seems to come on at about 3500 really hard. When I had the blower off for a little while, the cam was great driving around. It seemed to pull pretty even and pretty hard all over.

A good tuner can put just as much lope in it as you want. I would recomend getting it done 'in person' though so you can tell the tuner exactly how you want it, more or less lope.

Have you read up about me talking about my little 210/218? It really sounds like you'd be a good candidate for it...

The thing wakes up at 1,500-1,700... It has a lot of torque way down low - it flashes my stock converter to 2,100rpm. It would be EXCELLENT with a rather tight stall -- the thing would hit HARD. (I heard somewhere it was designed around a Yank 2600 or a PI 2800.)

Here's the same exact cam as my other post, idling at the same exact RPM, through the exhaust. It's very stock like here - it has a little more of a cackle now. Sure sounds a lot different when it's uncorked.

Flyer, I am for sure going to get an in person tune done for the cam. A dyno tune and all. Thats really the only way to get it done truely right.

Marc_W, who makes that cam and what are the specs? I like the sound of that. Where did you get it from?
