I've never had that happen. By the time my slow *** gets the old cam out, and the new one in, the lifters have already bled down.

I'm still confused though. The force from tightening the bolts will push the oil out of them. If your lifters are that stiff, then I would change them.

Well the lifters sat over night with no presure on them. We put the rockers back on,tighend them down, saw that the valves were opening up, Said well ****!, scratched our heads, went to take them back loose and noticed that the rockers came up from the push rod side only. So the valves were shut... And now we tightend them all up (not torqued) and let them sit for a few (beer break) and see if they all do the same.

What did you torque them to? Did you rotate the engine several times to check everything? What are you using for oil 80W-120?

Ok guys heres the update, The truck is all put back together and runs fine. Sounds ALOT like a sewingmachine. Only problem is that it has barley any oil preasure at idle, Tached up it has around 40-50 pounds at 1500-2000rpm. My best guess is that The little o-ring in the pump is shot. Its the only thing that we forgot about. The vaulve problem is fixed so far, it was just a fast omg type of thing that we jump to conclusion about. The rockers are torqued to 30 nm I bilieve, What ever gm says. Is there any chance that a place like Advance Auto would have one of the oil pump seals you guys think? If not it will be tuesday before I can get the part from gm. Also I'm useing Gastrol 10w-40. So who is with me on the oil pump seal for no oil presure at idle. Thanx for the help tonight guys! But Its 4:30 and I'm going to bed.
