Default Need help choosing headers...

So I have read and read and cannot decide on which headers to get. I cannot say if I would ever get a cam or go fi for sure but would like to get
1 7/8 in headers. I cannot see myself spending 1500 bucks on kooks or are headers while there are cheaper options that are said to work. So is it worth buying the most expensive headers or getting more middle of the pack headers for ~800 and other small mods?

Contact speed engineering for their 1 7/8's headers. Just make sure to get the revised collector with the spikes.
Use aerokroil from Amazon to help the manifold bolts out and get some 3" stepped stainless band clamps, you need 4 of them.

Im assuming based on your user name, your in a denali. If so you will need a catback. The stainless mbrp from a Tahoe or yukon will work perfectly.
You will beable to get the headers and catback for alil over 800 and under of you shop for a deal on the catback.

What ever you do, do not chose LPP!! I bought a set and they hit the frame and there is no contact # and emails will not be returned.

You want quality and fitment, but nobody wants to pay the price. ARH headers and worth the cost in my opinion. No headaches.

Now if you can weld and fab yourself, go ahead and buy some cheap ebay china headers and have at it.

Like GMCtrk is saying, if you don't want ANY headaches at all spend the money for ARH or Dynomaxx headers. The cheaper headers have less quality control and therefore may or may not fit perfectly, trust me, I KNOW!

Whatever you do, DO NOT buy the ebay headers with the hump. Biggest PITA to deal with ever!

Also, I would skip the 1 7/8" headers if you are not going to do a cam, FI or anything like that at somepoint. You're gonna miss that little bit of bottom end you loose.

359$

10$

30$ for two rolls, ebay

8$ x4

total under 450$ for ceramic coated, wrapped stainless 1 3/4" headers, with collector spikes, that have no fitment issues..
Try and beat that..

/end thread

x2!!!!!!!!! I just installed some over the weekend in my truck and I have to pull them back out and dimple the heck out of them to keep them from rubbing on the frame on both side, the steering shaft and front driveshaft on the driver side, and the y pipe sucks. I did notice that they pulled the long tubes off the website right after I ordered, which should have made me cancel, but they had already shipped so I figured they couldn't be that bad. They are worse than I would have thought possible.

Those speed eng. headers look like chinese copies of pacesetters. Even got the passenger side o2 sensor sticking up into the floorboard, moronic location.
