the guy who installed my headers just called me saying he put the wrong spark plugs in the truck. But I went to my mechanic today and he gave me all new wires because the old ones melted to the headers. the truck still runs like **** but its a little better with the newer wires. hopfully the new plugs fix the problem or i guess my coils are all fucked.

WTF man? 1500 bones didn't come with a tune, proper wires/sleeves/f*ing zipties, or a competent tech? I can promise you I would not be taking it back to the same shop if they were the only one in Canada.

If it still runs like **** after that, make sure you got your $250 bucks back, then ask for another $250 back, THEN kick him in the dick......

Hope you get it worked out.

Sucks dude, sorry to hear that.

My $.02, learn to work on your truck yourself and you'll save $, avoid the problem of having to rely on someone who may not know what they're doing (or know and not care), and have a fun hobby. You also won't get taken to the cleaners when you take your truck in for repairs and they try to upsell you.

There's plenty of good info on here, and most everyone is happy to help when you have questions.

I wish I could work on my own truck, I work 7 days a week right now and I don't have a shop nor the tools to get the job done, I have a mechanic that I've been going to for 10 years + but he doesn't do performance parts. I'm bringing the truck in at 4 and getting new plugs and refunded, ill keep everyone posted. BTW, which spark plugs do you recommend for a 2004 silverado 5.3L?

Thanks guys

TR55s is what I would use on that. Glad you got it fixed...

Curious what plugs he used... I use NGK 8s gapped at 0.022 and it idles terrible but still drives fine....for you to have so many problems he mustve used something crazy.
