Default Need help and advice

I have very little experience with the Gen III small block, but I find myself looking for info. My dad just recently acquired a 2006 Jon Moss Signature Series RST Silverado with a Magna Charged 4.8 and the 5 speed manual. I'm really not sure what all is done to the truck. The guy he got the truck from (who is not the one who did the work to it) has owned a few of these trucks with blowers. He pointed out something that he said none of his other trucks have had. There is a line that crosses over from the front of one rail to the other. Does anyone know what that might be? It also has short tube headers.

He wants to do a little work to it to bump the power a little. I told him a cam would probably help it out some, but I have no idea what is a good cam to use. Also, what type of power is the stock bottom end good for? How much power will the MP112 support? He needs the truck to have good street manners. Is 500 HP possible? What other mods would be necessary?

Sorry for all the newb questions, but I've been searching for about the past hour and have only come up with more questions. I appreciate any help and advice. Thanks!

what rail are you talking about ? frame rail ? or fuel rail? might be a methnol/water injection kit. is there a small tank anywhere that looks like it might hold the water/mix ? You can add boost with a smaller blower pulley. I would recomend getting a custom tune there might be some hidden power already in there .

Fuel rail. The guy said all his other truck had plugs in the end of the fuel rails, but this one has a hose that crosses over from rail to rail. The install instructions on Magna Charger's website also shows plugs in the rails.

Well, an extra fuel crossover will only help the fuel distribution. If I remember right, later maggie kits have a front fuel crossover. My Corvette had a little over 500rwhp with that blower. Easy upgrade is a small cam. Patrick G can assist with cam for that engine. Then make sure you get a dyno tune by a reputable local tuner. These bottom ends can take a lot if they are tuned conservatively and aren't driven overly stupid.

I was also told this. I was going to make my own crossover, but decided to buy one from Magnuson. I think the crossover is a great idea on these engines as without it is just a bad design. I have a stock bottom end in my truck with the addition of rod bolts. I would like to think my truck will be right around 500 when I put it on the dyno.
