Default Need help with 6.0 combo..

ok i bought a 6.0 about 5 months ago and i need to get it finished..i already have some parts for it...i got patriot performance stage 2 heads with a tsp 231/237 cam..and i got some lunati 6.125 rods, and some 4.030 diamond pistons..my question is will this combo work..is the rod length to long? i just kinda rushed into gettin the parts and didnt even think about sizes and other stuff..so will this work? oh yeah its bored .030 over so i know i got that right..lol oh yeah and the rods have .927 wrist pin, a 2.100 crank pin and .940 jrnl width...sorry for all the dumb questions but im kinda new to all of this stuff thanks...oh yea also i noticed the other day my crankshaft has some rust spots on it...i tried to clean it off but it still has some spots on it, like on the journals and the weights...can i still use it? and also should i get the crank, rods, and pistons balanced? or will they be ok? thanks alot!

As long as the pistons have the small block Chevy pin diameter and the proper pin height, which would be about 1.309, then you should be good to go. And yes, anytime you bolt a bunch of non-stock, aftermarket parts together, it needs to be balanced. I would take the crank to a machine shop and see if the rust is minor enough for them to polish it off. Sounds like you are copy-catting what I am doing.
