Question need help!!!

Ok i have a 2001 chevy SCSB with the 4.8l. It is completely stock and i am a power addict. I want to stay with the 4.8 and make good power. It will be taken to the track to hopefully put in some good E/Ts (for the 4.8). I am new to the truck performance world and amazed at all the options i have come across on this site. This will be a long term project cause money is tight right now for me so i would like to get some opinions on what combinations would be good for a good daily driver that puts in some good E/Ts

Welcome to the site, as you have already said, the options are endless.....
Do you have a e.t goal in mind?

Have you checked out EFI-live and HPTuners?

If I were to do it all over again. One of those would be the FIRST thing I would do to my truck...

I guess I'll tell you before some one else does, use the search button. There are lots of guys here running the 4.8 and making really good power. Do a little research and figure out how you want to make your power, ie. forced induction or nitrous and start from there. Good Luck and welcome to the site.

Oh, almost forgot about the all motor guys .... you can make make good power all motor too.

A good tune and CAI are a good starting point IMHO.

It can be done, but you will have a LOT of bolt-on and a a pretty big cam and good heads to hit that goal, FI or n2o would be cheaper (in the short run)...

Yes and no, If you set it up and use it properly and keep it from going lean you can get many miles on it. I was reading a thread on ls1tech and people were posting their highmileage nitrous cars. the thread was huge and most had 100k+miles and they were daily driving them.

you need to have the fuel sytem to keep up and a good tune there should be no problems, just dont get too greedy
