Need green keys help!!
This might be a rookie question. How do you install green keys for the leveling my truck out? Is this a need a lift or will a floor jack work? Need a fancy tool or a socket wrench work? I just need a book for dumbies. lol :confused:

You need some 1/2" drive sockets and 1/2'\" drive ratchet. A little muscle too.
You will nedd floor jack that can lift pretty high. Or just use a spacer or something. Then you will need 2 descent highdth jack stands. Jim |

Here is a link with some pics. Its not very hard to do. Did mine a couple weeks ago. Did mine with a 2 jaw gear puller not the GM torsion bar tool. It worked out just fine. |
No pics here, but you will need to pick up your truck by your frame with floorjacks, then put your jack stands under your frame. let the floor jacks down slow. Your going to need the floorjacks to use under your rear diffential. Two floorjacks are preferred.
From there take off your tires to give you better access to work. Then it's all you. Make sure you torque your bolts back to specs. (you will need a torue wrench too) Sorry I do not have the torque specs. An air impact or an electric impact will be of great help too. Good luck! Jim |

Jim Jack up front end, use the gear puller or the gm tool and line up with dimple on keys. Put small amount of pressure on key, just enough to make sure it wont slide. Next remove the torsion bar bolt. Need a 18mm socket. Remove the flat threaded piece in there as well. You will see what I mean when you get to it. Next let preload off of key. Going to have to play with the key to get it off. Yours is pretty new, that should help you out some. I had to beat on mine a little to get the key loose. Slide new key in. Load it back up with puller or GM tool. Install bolt and adjust to height you want it set at. |

My dealer around here was going to sell it to me for $80. I am a tight ass so I didnt get it. The gear puller works really well.

I would recommed the Torsion Key tool made my JOb alot easier.
