Default Need exhaust help, Please

My girlfriend just got a 2000 NBS Tahoe. I finally figured out what a noise that it is making is. It is the convertor rattleing. What are my options? Performance isn't really a must, but it is one piece that has two convertors and runs from the manifolds to the flange. This part is about $500. or more. If I am going to spend that much coin, I wonder if I can get LT headers, the two convertors and the pipe to the flange for about the same money. What is my best option? Thanks for the help.

i think what he's saying is one of his converters is going (hence the rattling sound), and that to replace the whole y-pipe (including two new cats) is $500.

what you could do is have a new stock converter welded in. if you want performance you could get some LTs and a custom y-pipe made that could hold two cats.

Ok I think I understand now. If you talking about one of the cats rattling. If you aren't woried about performance you can easily just replace the y-pipe. Jeg's has an off-road version (no cats) for around $200 that I believe should fit. If you need or want to keep the cats there are probably plenty of people here that can find you a good used stock y-pipe as most on here remove them as quickly as they can. You could also go ahead and replace the manifolds with headers and get and off-road y-pipe for around $500, but if the tahoe is going to remain stock everywhere else I think you would be better off just keeping the stock manifolds.

Thanks, sorry for the unorganized post. Performance isnt an issue. She is no speed demon. I just didn't want to pay over 500 for the stock stuff if I could get aftermarket stuff for the same price or less. If anybody has the stock Y pipe with the cats for sale, I would be very interested in buying them from them. Thanks again for the help.
