If anyone would have some suggestions on what route to take. I don't want to install a cat bat exhaust system for lack of money. I do want a beefier sound when I a cruise around town. Does anyone recommemd a muffler and why. I would love to hear your ideas.


'02 silverado 4.8L

 

I run true dual Dynomax Race Bullets with the factory Denali tip.
Total cost was about $170 including install. I've had two buddies of mine tell me it almost sounds like a Corsa when I rev it up. So looks like I saved myself a good $600

 

do what I did and they charged me 125 for the 1 chamber and dump. the more the pipe you need the more it cost. also the welds. it took about 15 minutes. sounded good before I cut the cats off. now it's a beast.

 

I'm a fan of flowmaster also.... I really like the sound.

 

I would go with a Borla, Corsa, Dynomax or magna-flo. I orginally had a magna-flo, but I didn't like the sound so I bought a Borla, and I love it.

 

price wise you can't beat what I did. also depends on how loud you want it

I went Borla. I had Flows and my low end sucked ***!! They just dont do anything for power IMO. Thats why I got the Borla. And I got my low end back. I did dump the muffler that came with the cat-back and got a Borla XR-1. Hell of a lot louder and sounds better.
