i just ordered the comp cams 212/218 grind number-xr265hr-14, my question is what all needs to be upgraded while im doing the swap? im going to run the ls6 yellow valve springs, is there any reason to upgrade the pushrods? Also which trailblazer torque converter do i need for my 2006 5.3 rcsb any advice is welcome.

While you could use stock pushrods, I'd personally get hardened pushrods since the stockers can flex at higher RPM. How many miles on the motor? If it has high mileage, it's good insurance to replace the timing chain/gears and oil pump. I would order a cam change kit from Texas Speed (gaskets, seal, balancer bolt). A couple gallons of antifreeze are also needed.

I would change to hardened pushrods if I were you. Also, you want the Inline 6 trailblazer TC.

any brand thats 7.4 length..in my opinion thats all you need to change. Ive always re-used the stock bolt and gaskets unless the water pump gasket is bad. Just put a dab of silicone in the corners of the timing cover. Thats all Ive ever done..

The stock bolt is technically TTY and should only be used once. While the water pump gaskets can probably be reused, again it's good insurance to get the kit.

they can be used more than once, people say they cant but they can. the bolt that is in dozerdans truck has been in and out 3 times on his truck in and out 4 times in my 6.0 block and 3 times on my 5.3..all the same bolt so ya cant say ***** gonna fly apart if you re-use it.
