Ok,
I'm getting ready to put my cam in next week.
So I pulled a cover and measured a few things for a spring compressor.

Looking at the springs and going from some rough measurements, they seem to be good to .580"+ lift.

Let me know what you guys think.
These are stock L33 springs.

Are you thinking of keeping the stock springs for your cam? If so i wouldnt, just get a set of aftermarket springs that will meet your cam specifications.

the stock spring would work but for how long is the first ? will they not let the motor go in to valve float is the second ?they might be good for a very short time but i would not run them for long.

Yeah, I had thought about it.
If these are different than the LM7 springs.
Can anyone tell?
I thought maybe they are as good as the 2003 LS6 springs that I bought.

Need a trained eye to tell.

I am getting the Comp 206/212 .515/.522 112

Motor has 5500 miles.

I do not want to run the stock 5.3 LM7 springs.

Is that what I have?

Hmmmm....... I know the 01 LS6 springs are blue and isnt the 02-04 LS6 springs come in yellow are green or look like a pea green color? Kinda like yours.

Here's some info I found:
Blue springs are from the 2001 LS6 heads, good for .525, yellow springs are from 2002 and green are from 2003 LS6, these are good to about .550 some say .575

So ,im not sure either, you might have some LS6 springs? Hopefully someone can tell us for sure.

Those *look* like the factory springs that I removed from my 5.3, and that also came on my 317 casting 6.0 heads that I got from ebay. For cheap insurance, you can get a set of 16 brand new yellow LS6 springs from SDPC for around $60ish shipped.

Thanks for the replies guys

I have the yellow LS6 springs coming.

I just don't have much info on the L33.
I am curious to know if the springs were changed along with the heads.
If I can't get a concrete answer, I'll just put the LS6 springs in.

Many of you guys have pulled your springs, someone must know if these look the same.
how about a picture of someones stock LM7 springs?

I have my stock cam / springs / retainers in a oil vat at home. I will pluck a spring out and tell you if it's a stock valve spring when I get home this afternoon
