Some here still use the factory cooler. Mine is HUGE. I dont take any chances I dont have to. They are so cheap anyways. I paid like $40 for mine and it doesnt go much past 170 even when it gets hot out. Mostly around 150.

i put a 100shot on a otherwise stock 4.8 and i could see on the data loger that tranny slipping. even though you have the 4l65 i would just assume the tranny wont last very long if you spray it.

other thing is a 150shot seems to be right at the limit of a stock fuel pump. i had a cam in the 6.0 i had and a 150shot was enugh to drop fuel pressure.

I have a trans cooler, shift kit with 1 washer and a Vig 3200 for my 4.8/60E with 70k miles and I've gone through about 10 bottles spraying mosty 100 shots...I did some 125 and 150 shots. I'm spraying through the shifts and the tranny is not showing any signs of slipping or anything. I have DRs on too. I'm sure it won't take the abuse for too much longer, who knows?

as far as the tranny holding i bet you could get away with it for a little bit especially seeing as it is a 65 not a 60 the cooler will help a lot also do you have a converter and like parish said do you have a cam that is really large because if you do that will obviously lower the time you have before you replace the transmission but if you are feeling lucky i say 150 or bust

i would throw a 100 shot on there first and see what she does. a 150 shot will be pushing the tranny a bit. i am running a 150 shot and have snapped an output shaft after about 7 12.8X passes. good luck.

Another thing is my allwheel drive. I have been told that the transfer case and rear end is plenty strong, does anyone know any different. I know my rear end is a Dana 44 becuase of the four wheel steering.

i am not positive about your driveline since it is a little diferent than mine but if anything i would think yours is stronger than a std 1500.

i wouldn't sweat a 100 or 150shot for the tcase or anything after that.
