If its been doing it a while, it must be the gaskets, im sure they'll be fine till you get around to it. If it were the water pump, within a few weeks, maybe even a few days, the pump will eventually start pissing coolant out.

I've noticed mine leaking around the upper hose where it goes into the water pump. It's a pressed in hard line into the pump housing. anyone else seen this problem??

I had this same problem a couple years ago. I simply put a little more 'snug' on the water pump bolts. While I wouldn't suggest just anyone doing this. I got approx 1/4 turn out of almost all the water pump bolts.
The leak has not been back since. If you do try it don't get carried away. as little as 1/8th of a turn can make a big difference. Maybe something to consider before tearing everything down, best of all it don't cost a thing.......provided you don't break a bolt off in the block
