Default My Stepdad's Truck

What do you think?
2000 Silverado 5.3
We just put the white bumper cover and handles on today. Who says retired folks don't have good taste? BTW we lowered the back 2" also way back when we bought our trucks the same day in 2000.

Looks good. Now yall just need to get that grill pained white too. Looks kinda out of place with the white cap.

BigKid: I'm working on him about the grille.

Tx Silverado: For running boards, those are some of the best looking I have seen. I don't like the ones that go over the fenders. And they look better than the plain black ones IMO.

Remember, I said he was retired, and he's not racing or interested in under the hood mods other than a K&N filter and oil changes. But he does like to keep a clean truck. Keep the comments coming, He had a big grin on his face when I told him I was gonna post it for comments.

When his birthday comes around you can whipple it for him! What a present! Nice truck. Too bad it wasn't a GMC. What other plans are you thinking for him???

Just Another Suggestion:
Paint the air dam white too. Should help clean the front up some more. I liked the way it looked on my truck.

The door handles look great. *I* would have painted the bumper cover pewter, but the white looks good too.

Who did the paint work? I'm going to experiment with some paint on my tailgate handle. I found a Duplicolor spray can that matches pretty close. If I screw it up I can always get a new handle or paint it black again. If it works good I'll either order & paint some Escalade handles or paint the ones that are one there now.

Damn I bet that would have looked good. He had the cover and all the handles done here in town at Ron Carter for about $175. When I did mine, minus the tailgate handle(already had one offa C3) it was $150. FYI, you don't have to smooth them down, they just piled the paint on.

Greg, do you have a spare set of handles still? I'd like to get mine painted gray but not be without the truck (or handles).

Now if you can just convince Buck to get some wheels

Tony

Buck's truck actually has my original handles. You can have them to get painted, I just want your stock ones back. I also have a tailgate handle if you want to swap it temorarily to paint your locking one. Let me know. I'll be on days this weekend, but I can send them with Michelle.
